PIANO SOLO
From A High Window is a cycle of eight short piano pieces developed from unused sketches from my soundtrack to Right Now (2015) — a theatre production directed by Michael Boyd. The material was later developed for the soundtrack High Window — an experimental theatre installation presented by Metis Arts at the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich, 2016.
The musical narrative is inspired by Raymond Chandler's detective novel The High Window (1942), exploring a ghostly, film noir-inspired soundworld of enigma, melancholy and suspense.
From A High Window was written and recorded during Lockdown, April-May 2020 and released in January 2022.
