VOICE | PIANO | CLARINET | VIOLIN | CELLO
Leezie Lyndsay is an example of my continued passion for reimagining traditional folk songs. A home studio recording made during Lockdown, March - April 2020, featuring vocals, piano and sampled violin, cello and clarinet.
Originally commissioned by author Andrew O’Hagan and his wife Lyndsey, for their wedding in September 2018. Premiered at Glasgow Cathedral with cellist Donald Gillan and the Glasgow Cathedral Choir, directed by Andrew Forbes.
My interpretation of Burns songs also include Ae Fond Kiss, Green Grow The Rashes O' (from the soundtrack to Grid Iron’s Barflies) and choral arrangements of Auld Land Syne and Thou Gloomy December.
A home recording featuring DPJ vocals and programmed clarinet and strings.
Words by Robert Allan (1774-1841) based on the poem by Robert Burns
